Simply the best engine to power your airplane! More power – less weight

Success story (company testimonial)

ULPower Aero Engines is a Belgian manufacturer of advanced piston aircraft engines, combining engineering expertise with fully integrated production capabilities. The company develops and produces modern propulsion systems for the global aviation market, serving applications ranging from light recreational aircraft to high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Thanks to EUDIS coaching services, ULPower was able to improve their commercialisation approach of aircraft engines and legal and regulatory advice, build strategic partnerships and enhanced their understanding of public funding programmes.

"The EUDIS coaching programme delivered significant value to ULPower by helping us structure our commercial, regulatory and strategic roadmap. The sessions were highly relevant to our ambitions in certified aviation and UAV markets. The collaboration went very well, and we now move into the next phase: implementing the long-term coaching plan, particularly in networking and funding opportunities", Mr. Jakob Defoer, Project Manager

Simply the best engine to power your airplane! More power – less weight

ULPower designs and manufactures direct-drive, air-cooled, horizontally opposed 4- and 6-cylinder piston engines ranging from 97 hp to 220 hp. A key differentiator is the fully integrated dual-channel FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control), which optimizes fuel efficiency, performance and operational simplicity by eliminating traditional carburetors and magnetos.

The engines offer a high power-to-weight ratio, electronic fuel injection and robust architecture, making them particularly suited for certified aircraft and demanding UAV platforms, including systems developed in accordance with STANAG 4671 requirements. Ongoing development is aligned with EASA CS-E and FAA Part 33 certification pathways to ensure international market access.

EUDIS coaching journey

With the support of their coach, Alexandre Mencik, ULPower strengthened the alignment between their commercial, legal, and regulatory strategies, enhanced their pricing and costing approaches, and improved their ability to form and execute strategic partnerships, alongside their overall networking capabilities. Lastly, the company gained a deeper understanding of public funding programmes at NATO, European, and national levels.
