To help SMEs boost their growth in the defence sector, the EU launched exclusive business coaching services for selected SME beneficiaries of the European Defence Fund (EDF). The services were created as part of the EU Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS), a set of instruments in the EDF to increase defence competitiveness and innovation.
The coaching services are open to SMEs selected as part of the EDF 2022 calls. Beneficiaries may receive up to 15 days of business coaching provided by defence industry experts. The service is fully EU-funded, thus participation is free of charge for eligible SMEs. The coaching is provided on a one-to-one basis, and will be tailored to each company’s needs, maturity, and experience in the sector.
Topics covered via the coaching services include commercialisation, corporate strategy, business development and strategic partnerships, investment readiness and access to finance, scaling up and internationalisation, improving operations and execution capacity, sales and marketing, or legal and regulatory advice.
